You will need:
For the Biscuits:
275g Plain flour
100g Butter
100g Caster Sugar
1 Egg
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
For the Icing:
200g Icing Sugar
2 to 3 Tablespoons Milk
Black Icing
Method:
Firstly in a bowl, to the plain flour add your sugar and mix well.
Add the butter and mix until it looks like breadcrumbs.
Then, add your egg and vanilla extract and mix together until a dough is formed.
Then roll your dough until it is about 1cm thick and cut out your biscuit circles. I used a 7cm cookie cutters.
Place on a pre-lined baking tray, then bake in a pre-heated oven at Gas Mark 4, 180C or 160C fan assisted for 12-15 mins or until the edges are just starting to get colour. Then allow the biscuits to cool.
Then to make the icing topping, in a bowl, to the icing sugar add the milk a little at a time until it makes a paste that will coat the back of a spoon.
Separate a couple of spoonful's of the icing into a different bowl and add the black icing until you are happy with the colour. If the icing gets too watery then add more icing sugar.
Cover each biscuits with the white icing, then with the black icing draw 1 large dot with 2 circles of black icing around it. It is best to do this is a piping bag.
Then with a toothpick, drag this from the center dot to the outside of the icing. Repeat around the center dot to create the spiderweb.
Allow the icing to set, then enjoy.
