How to make Shortbread

You will need:

175g Plain Flour

50g Caster Sugar

125g Butter


Method:

1. Firstly; in a bowl, mix together your flour and sugar.

2. Then add the butter and using your fingertips mix until it has the consistency of breadcrumbs.

3. Bring the mixture together to form a ball, it may take some time but it will come together.

4. Then on a floured surface, roll out your dough, to about half a cm thick.

5. Then cut out your biscuits either using a cookie cutter or you can use a knife to cut into fingers.

6. Place your biscuits on a pre-lined baking tray with baking paper. And using a fork, prick the top of the biscuits.

7. Bake in a preheated oven at Gas Mark 5, 190C or 170C fan assisted for 20 mins. Then allow to cool.
