How to make Puff Pastry Pizza Twists

You will need:

320g Puff Pastry

100g Cheddar Cheese (Grated)

3tbsp Tomato Puree

2tsp Tomato Ketchup

1tsp Basil

1 Egg (Beaten)

Toppings:

50g Mushrooms (Sliced)

50g Ham (Chopped into small pieces)


Method:

  1. To start with the make the tomato sauce, mix together the tomato puree, tomato ketchup and basil together.

  2. On a floured surface, roll out your puff pastry until its about half a centimetre thick.

  3. Cut into 6 squares, then spread the tomato sauce diagonally in the middle of each square.

  4. Then over the tomato sauce, sprinkle the grated cheese leaving some of the cheese to one side to top with later.

  5. Then top with your toppings, I used ham and mushrooms but top with any toppings you'd prefer.

  6. Then fold one corner without tomato sauce on into the middle, brush with the beaten egg and fold the opposite corner over the top. Pressing down to help them seal together.

  7. Brush the tops of the pizza twists with the remaining egg and top with the remaining cheese.

  8. Bake in a pre-heated oven; at Gas Mark 6, 200 C or 170 C fan assisted for 15 to 18 mins
