How to make Gingerbread Biscuits

You will need:

300g Plain Flour

1 tsp Bicarbonate of soda

125g Butter

100g Brown Sugar

3 tbsp Golden Syrup

2 tsp Ground Ginger

1 tsp Cinnamon


Method:

  1. Firstly, in a bowl, combine your flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger and cinnamon. Once mixed, make a well in the middle so we can add the wet ingredients.

  2. Then in a saucepan, over a low heat, melt together your butter, sugar and golden syrup.

  3. Then having let your wet mixture cool enough so it is cool enough to handle, mix into your dry ingredients. Mix until it comes together as a dough.

  4. Then on a floured surface, roll out to about 1cm thick. Then using a cookie cutter cut out your biscuits.

  5. Place your biscuits on a tray lined with baking paper, leaving space between each biscuit as they will expand.

  6. The in a pre-heated oven at Gas 5, 190C or 170 fan assisted bake for about 12 minutes or until they are a golden colour.
