How to make Cheats Pain au Chocolat

You will need:

500g Puff Pastry

150g Milk Chocolate

1 Egg (Beaten)


Method:

  1. To start with chop the chocolate into thin rectangles.

  2. Then on a floured surface, roll out your puff pastry into a rectangle.

  3. Cut into 6 smaller rectangles, then place a line of chocolate just in from both sides of each rectangle.

  4. Then fold over both sides of the puff pastry to cover the chocolate and roll once more so both sides meet in the middle.

  5. Flip each pain au chocolat over and place on a pre-lined baking tray with baking paper.

  6. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.

  7. Bake in a pre-heated oven; at Gas Mark 5, 190 C or 170 C fan assisted for 25 to 30 mins
