You will need:
For the filling:
400g Apples (peeled and diced)
50g Sugar (either demerara or caster)
200g Blackberries
1tbsp Plain Flour
For the Crumble:
150g Plain Flour
100g Caster sugar
100g Butter
Method:
1. Firstly to make the filling; mix together the chopped apples, sugar, blackberries and flour until the apples are well coated.
2. Then spoon this into an ovenproof dish (mine was a 27cm by 19cm oval dish), making sure to press down on the apples. This will help by keeping the crumble on top of the apples during cooking so will allow for a crispier top.
3. In a different bowl; mix together the plain flour and caster sugar until combined. Then add your butter in cubed and rub in until it resembles breadcrumbs. Then spoon on top of your apple mix.
6. Then in a pre-heated oven at Gas Mark 5, 190C or 170 Fan assisted; bake them for 45 to 55 mins.
