You will need:
For the Cake:
300g Self-raising flour
300g Caster Sugar
300g Margarine/butter
5 eggs
2tsp vanilla extract
For the topping:
200g Icing Sugar
2tbsp Milk
Sprinkles
Method:
Firstly cream together the butter and caster sugar in a bowl until well combined.
Then add the eggs and mix well. Then add the Vanilla extract and mix.
Then add the self-raising flour, and mix until well combined.
Put the batter into a pre-greased and lined tin (I used a 33cm by 23cm by 6cm tin).
Then bake in a pre-heated oven at Gas Mark 5, 190C or 170C fan assisted for about 40-45 minutes. To test that the cake is cooked all the way through, use a toothpick to put into the middle of the cake and if it come out clean it is ready.
Then allow the cake to cool.
Then to make the icing, in a bowl, add the milk to icing sugar and mix until combined and smooth.
Spread this on top of the cake, and while the icing is still wet, sprinkle the top with the sprinkles.
Then shop into the size pieces you want and enjoy.
