How to make a Home-made Crunchie Bar (Chocolate Covered Honeycomb)

You will need:

100g Sugar

3tbsp Golden Syrup

1tsp Bicarbonate of Soda

100g Milk Chocolate


Method:

  1. Firstly pre-line a baking tin (I used a 23cm by 18cm tin) with baking paper.

  2. In a saucepan, add your sugar and golden syrup. Pop on a low heat, and continuously stir until all the sugar as dissolved.

  3. Raise the temperature slightly, and keep stirring until the mixture is a golden colour.

  4. Add your bicarbonate of soda and stir in. It will start to puff up, working quickly pour the mixture into your pre-lined tin and leave to set.

  5. Once set, carefully cut into the size pieces you want.

  6. Melt your chocolate, either over a pan of water or in 30 second blasts in the microwave. And carefully cover each piece of honeycomb in chocolate, then leave to set
